Glory of the divine form of Mother Saraswati This goddess is therefore called the provider of knowledge and wisdom. The day on which Mother Saraswati Devi appeared was the fifth day of Shukla Paksha of Magh month and the day of Basant Panchami. Therefore, Mother Saraswati is worshiped in every house on this day. Today we had very beautiful souls from Brazil group of yoga students. Where we had practice Yoga, Asana, Pranayama, Meditation and shavasana beautifully and perfectly in the morning. May the Lord bless to them on Basant Panchami the Birthday of mother Sarswati the mother of knowledge. |

Yoga Trainee playing holi the colourful festival on March 10, 2020 at yoga foundation Rishikesh India. Holi is a popular ancient festival, originating from the Indian. People play with water guns and water-filled balloons are also used to play and colour each other. Anyone and everyone is fair game, friend or stranger, rich or poor, man or woman, children, and elders. The frolic and fight with colours occur in the open streets, open parks, outside temples and buildings. People visit family, friends and foes to throw coloured powders on each other, laugh and gossip, then share Holi delicacies, food and drinks.

Trip to Neelkanth Mahadev Temple. This temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva, because this is exactly the place where he drank the poison to save the world. In Hindi neel means blue and kanth means throt. After drinking the poison, Shiva kept the blue poison in his neck. Temple is located on the mountain, around 10km away from PIYF ashram, so our students enjoyed nice long walk in the nature, surrounded with lots of monkeys.

Today is is the beginning of Hindu Navratri festival, which will be celebrated all over India for 9 days 18 – 26.3.2018. During this festival, the devotees worship 9 incarnations of Goddess Durga, to get blessing. It is believed, that people who worship, do fasting and chanting mantras during this time will be blessed with prosperity ,wisdom and happiness. People also perform different pujas and havans to welcome Goddess Durga into their home.The style of celebration and worshiping is in every part of India different, but done with the same devotion and enthusiasm. As every Sunday in the ashram, we had a special morning class dedicated to mudras and kriyas. Students learnt how to perform jala neti - nasal cleansing kriya, on our beautiful sunny rooftop.

We have just finished our 300 hour Yoga Teacher Training and 100 hour Yoga Therapy and Ayurveda Training yesterday. It was hard to say goodbye to all our beautiful yoga students. But today we are ready to start new Training and welcome new special yoga trainee students from Russia. We are also looking forward to our next 200 hours Yoga Teacher Training which will take place on 1 - 28 April 2018. Registration for this course is still open! The last day of the 200 hours Yoga Teacher Training. All students has successfully finished the course and now leaving back home. Students from the 300 hours YTTC are staying with us for 2 more weeks together with the new group of students of 100 hours of Yoga Therapy and Ayurveda training (1st March 2018) which is starting tomorrow. It is always busy in Yoga Foundation ashram.

Excursion to Vashista cave before beginning of the exams. Vashista Cave is popular among visitors for experience of deep meditation because the great Sage Vashista meditated there. There is a small ashram nearby and beautiful beach where our students had lot of fun trying some acro yoga.

During this traditional festival, people celebrate the victory of good over evil, have a good time socializing and eating together and throw coloured powder over each other. Patanjali International Yoga Foundation, Rishikesh India, organizes the Yoga and Meditation Retreat, the 100-hour teacher course and Yoga Therapy and Ayurveda during this period.
