Hanuman Janam-Utsav is a Hindu religious festival that celebrates the birth of Lord Sri Hanuman also celebreted by Yoga practitioner those who practice Hanuman Asan which dedicate to Lord of wind. This year we are celevrating on 31 March 2018 at Yoga Foundation and same time we are having opening ceromany for 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training for April 2018.

Trip to Neelkanth Mahadev Temple. This temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva, because this is exactly the place where he drank the poison to save the world. In Hindi neel means blue and kanth means throt. After drinking the poison, Shiva kept the blue poison in his neck. Temple is located on the mountain, around 10km away from PIYF ashram, so our students enjoyed nice long walk in the nature, surrounded with lots of monkeys.

Special puja as a part of Navaratri festival celebration. Two priests came to our ashram to perform puja and fire ceremony for our students, so they could pray for their desires and worship the Goddess Durga.

Today is is the beginning of Hindu Navratri festival, which will be celebrated all over India for 9 days 18 – 26.3.2018. During this festival, the devotees worship 9 incarnations of Goddess Durga, to get blessing. It is believed, that people who worship, do fasting and chanting mantras during this time will be blessed with prosperity ,wisdom and happiness. People also perform different pujas and havans to welcome Goddess Durga into their home.The style of celebration and worshiping is in every part of India different, but done with the same devotion and enthusiasm. As every Sunday in the ashram, we had a special morning class dedicated to mudras and kriyas. Students learnt how to perform jala neti - nasal cleansing kriya, on our beautiful sunny rooftop.

We have just finished our 300 hour Yoga Teacher Training and 100 hour Yoga Therapy and Ayurveda Training yesterday. It was hard to say goodbye to all our beautiful yoga students. But today we are ready to start new Training and welcome new special yoga trainee students from Russia. We are also looking forward to our next 200 hours Yoga Teacher Training which will take place on 1 - 28 April 2018. Registration for this course is still open! Make sure to book your spot as soon as possible.

The last day of the 200 hours Yoga Teacher Training. All students has successfully finished the course and now leaving back home. Students from the 300 hours YTTC are staying with us for 2 more weeks together with the new group of students of 100 hours of Yoga Therapy and Ayurveda training (1st March 2018) which is starting tomorrow. It is always busy in Yoga Foundation ashram.

Today we had a special charity event. Young boys who are training to be priests visited our ashram and chanted Rigveda at yoga foundation. PIYF provided each kid with cup of chai, pastry and some presents.

Excursion to Vashista cave before beginning of the exams. Vashista Cave is popular among visitors for experience of deep meditation because the great Sage Vashista meditated there. There is a small ashram nearby and beautiful beach where our students had lot of fun trying some acro yoga.

Valentines day is recognised as a celebration of love. We love our students, so after 2 weeks of hard work, we took them to the beautiful beach by Mother Ganga to practice yoga, take a bath and enjoy some free time.

Today we have started 200 and 300 hours Yoga Teacher Trainings and also Yoga and Meditation Retreat. Students from all around the world in our yoga shala were celebrating full moon and and moon eclipse during the opening ceremony.

During the 2nd and 3rd of March, 2018, people all over India will celebrate the annual Holi Festival of Colours. During this traditional festival, people celebrate the victory of good over evil, have a good time socializing and eating together and throw coloured powder over each other. Also in Rishikesh, this is an important festival. Patanjali International Yoga Foundation, Rishikesh India, organizes the Yoga and Meditation Retreat, the 100-hour teacher course and Yoga Therapy and Ayurveda during this period. We look forward to introducing our students that registered for one of these courses to the Holi Festival and celebrating together!
